Each time kids hear the day’s Bible Point, they will grab their elbows like a hug and shout, “Jesus rescues!” ww Call on kids’ Crew roles. Repeating the Bible Point again and again will help children remember it and then apply it to their lives after VBS. Every activity at Shipwrecked VBS focuses on one simple, memorable daily Bible truth called the Bible Point. Once kids are familiar with the signal, you will automatically regain their attention when you use it. The first time kids come to your station, introduce and rehearse your attention-getting signal. You can use the Toucan Twister (available from Group Publishing or your Group VBS supplier) or another signal of your choice. Attention-getting signals let kids know when it’s time to stop what they’re doing and look at you. For example, if your VBS has 20 Crews, you’ll be working with 5 Crews (approximately 25 kids and 5 leaders) during each session. Plan on having one-quarter of the total number of Crews in each of your rotations.
